This workshop will be dedicated to drumming; spending at least one hour drumming together as a group. We will employ hand drums and shamanic style (drum w/beater). Drumming allows us to let go of our rational mind and surrender to our instinctual nature; and connect with our indigenous roots.

Hand Drums enable us to Express and Connect Through Rhythm. Find Your Beat: No experience needed to join our drumming circle. Express and Release: Tap into drumming's emotional and creative outlet. Community Vibes: Connect with others through the shared language of rhythm.

Shamanic style drumming is a continuous, steady beat. This style uses a hand-held drum with a beater. This beat creates a portal to the spirit realm. Per western science, this steady beat places one in the theta state; a deeper state than meditation. This style of drumming provides for an experience of Oneness and creates a trance state that allows for clear access to one’s intuition; aka hearing the voice of God, creator, source, spirit. Once the drumming is complete, we will sit in the stillness and receive intuitive messages.

Gregory Merritt is pursuing his soul’s passion to express his light and loving heart as a healer-teacher. He integrates his learning from many traditions – nature-based teachings such as Native American and pagan, Consciousness studies, Life Coaching, Landmark Education, drumming circles and 10 years as a Religious Science practitioner. As a Life Coach, he enjoys helping people get into action regarding their true heart’s desire. Gregory is a champion of the soul’s journey. He will help you develop a deeper connection with the Divine within and live life from that place.

David Hinojosa blends his expertise as an entrepreneur, music producer, and international performing artist with a deep dedication to cultural and artistic diversity on a global scale. David's passion for education and cultural exchange shines through his work as a drum facilitator and guide, where he connects with refugee and immigrant communities through music. His efforts in drum circles and music programming serve as powerful tools for communication and building cross-cultural connections. David's belief in music's unifying power drives his commitment to fostering inclusive communities and bridging cultural divides through the transformative language of rhythm and sound.
